The display goes from the Smithsonian Castle to the Air and Space Museum and Beyond. The plaque by the sun reads:

"You are standing near the sun within a model of out solar system. The real solar system is 10 billion times larger.

Take a voyage! Imagine exploring our solar system as a giant. As you travel, you encounter the sun an its planets, each small enough to hold in your hand. To your left you can see the sun and inner planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. Pluto the farthest from the sun is near the Smithsonian Castle. Look at the map below to see where you are.

Would you like to visit the nearest star beyond the sun? At this scale you would have to go all the way to California."
Scientific Principle(s) being demonstrated:
The solar system and their relation to each other in size and distance.

Briefly explain if the experiment was effective for you. Could it have been better?:
It's easy to see the distance. Some of the models are near each other on the same block, while others span a whole block. Also the size of the sun model is helpful.

When is the apparatus/experiment available to the public:
All year roundiT
