De Landcommanderij Alden Biesen in Bilzen werd gebouwd door de Duitse ridderorde. Nu is dit kasteelcomplex een cultuurcentrum van de Vlaamse Overheid. Als zodanig bouwde Alden Biesen niet alleen een historische en een Europese werking uit, maar is de Landcommanderij tevens een congrescentrum en een cultuurtoeristische trekpleister. Op die wijze wil ze bijdragen tot de uitwisseling van ideeën en tot de vorming van mensen met een zo ruim mogelijke horizont.
The Landcommandery Alden Biesen was built by the German Order (Teutonic knights) . Nowadays this castle is a cultural centre of the Flemish Community .
Alden Biesen did not only set up historical and European activities but the Landcommandery is also a congress centre and a cultural and tourist attraction. In this way we want to contribute to the exchange of ideas and the development of broad minded people.
