In Pawtucket, within Slater Park, there is the art gallery for the Rhode Island Watercolor Society.
This gallery, headquarters, and classroom, is located within an old boat house, which is by a small pond. There are two floors of exhibit space which is filled with watercolor paintings by members of the society.
The society has been around since 1896, which makes it one of the oldest watercolor organizations in the country. The society has over 300 members. In addition to the exhibits, the society sponsors 15 shows, including a national water media competition.
Gallery Hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 10am - 4pm, Sunday, 1-5pm. Closed Mondays and Holidays.
