project_description
This innovative project is based around the complete renovation of two existing greenhouses, one built in 1964 and the other in 1967 which are used for ethnobotany (the study of the relationship between people and plants) and butterflies. The main structures of the two distinctive greenhouses will be retained but will be upgraded to become more energy efficient and cost effective to run. Adjoining spaces will be replaced and added to provide flexible function and education spaces, which will extend the uses of the building. Enmax are sponsors of the building and will be providing a range of demonstration renewable energy technologies to help raise awareness and uptake of renewable energy amongst visiting public.
