There has been a church on this sight since the 5th century, the present building, the oldest part of which dates from 1330, being the third St. Tegai's Church. There were major redevelopements in the 16th and 19th centuries.

The mainly slate headstones are inscriped in Welsh, although there are a few English ones too.

Also to be seen in the churchyard is the reconstructed remains of a 11th century stone coffin, believed to have survived from the second St. Tegai's Church.

I have uploaded images of two headstones, one Welsh and one English.
