Thorrington is a small village in the Tendring district of Essex. The area has no large rivers, but is close enough to the sea to use the tides to fill the mill pond. It is one of seven surviving
Tide Mills in Britain.
This mill was built in 1831, was restored in 1974 and is now a Grade II Listed Building. It still functions in the summer months as a local tourist attraction.

Please give the date of your visit and a brief description of your experience and any additional information you may have about the waterwheel, its current condition, etc. We would very much like at least one original photo from your visit, but it is not absolutely necessary.
