Inner Space Cavern Funicular Railway - Public Funiculars and Incline Railways on Waymarking.com

In May 1963, the Texas Highway Department was drilling core samples in preparation for the construction of Interstate Highway 35. A cave was discovered that had no current natural entrance. Entrepreneurs purchased the land at one end of the cave and cut an entry through solid rock to the cave. A funicular railway was installed to provide easy access to the cave for tourists. To ride on this funicular railway, you must purchase a ticket for the cave tour. 75 minute tours are $18.00 for adults and $10.00 for children. Longer tours are available.
