The larger of the two courtyards in the Grand Master’s Palace is named Neptune’s after its impressive bronze statue of the sea god.
Attributed to the sculptor Giambologna (1529-1608), it is said the nude model was Admiral Andrea Dona, a friend of Grand Master de la Vallette.
