Der etwa 13km lange Darsser Weststrand liegt im Nationalpark Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft und ist nur zu Fuß, per Fahrrad oder mit der Pferdekutsche zu erreichen.
Der Strand ist sehr ursprünglich und naturbelassen und daher von einer rauen Schönheit. Der Strand ist durch Wind, Wetter und die See geprägt. Entwurzelte Bäume und die sogenannten "Windflüchter" zeugen davon. Seine Gestalt wird durch diese Naturgewalten regelmäßig neu geformt.
Man kann hier strandwandern, baden (jedoch gibt es häufig recht hohe Wellen) oder einfach die ursprüngliche Natur geniessen.
Der Wegpunkt zeigt auf den Zugang am Leuchtturm Darsser Ort. Es gibt mehrere Zugänge.
The Western Beach on the Darss is approx. 13km long. Since it is part of the National Park "Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft", it can only be reached on foot, by bike or horse-drawn carriage.
The beach is of great natural beauty and much affected by the influence of wind and sea. Uprooted tree trunks and the so-called "Windflüchter" (pine trees with crowns growing away from the sea) show this clearly.
You can take a walk, swim (beware of the often high waves) or simply enjoy nature here.
The waymark points to the beach entrance at the lighthouse "Darsser Ort". There are several other beach entrances.
