On the border of Southwest Drenthe and Southeast Friesland, is a special area. The National Park Drents-Friese Wold is one of the largest nature reserves in the Netherlands. In 2000 over 6,000 hectares of woodland, heathland, shifting sands and river valley grasslands designated as a National Park.
It's not just nature: in and around the National Park they are working hard. The many holidaymakers, attracted by the beautiful nature, are welcomed by the many entrepreneurs from throughout the area. It is therefore working hard to strengthen the regional economy by sustainability.
Op de grens van Zuidwest Drenthe en Zuidoost Friesland, ligt een bijzonder gebied. Het Nationaal Park Drents-Friese Wold is één van de grootste natuurgebieden van Nederland. In 2000 werd ruim 6000 hectare bos, heide, stuifzand en beekdal graslanden aangewezen als Nationaal Park.
Het gaat niet alléén om natuur: in en rond het Nationaal Park wordt hard gewerkt. De vele recreanten, aangetrokken door het schitterende natuurgebied, worden gastvrij ontvangen door de vele ondernemers uit het hele gebied. Er wordt dan ook hard gewerkt aan versterking van de regionale economie door verduurzaming.
