The Elgin Bridge is to be found near the centre of the city of Singapore, crossing the Singapore River. The bridge as it stands today was completed in 1929, and named after the Governor General of India, Lord Elgin (whose father made the famous purchase of the Elgin Marbles).

The bridge is approximately 50m in length, and carries primarily vehicular traffic, but with two narrow pedestrian walkways on either side of the bridge. There are also ornate lamps on either side of the bridge, but I do not know if they are functional. In appearance the white, concrete bridge stands out, but it does seem dwarfed by the skyscrapers and larger bridges in the vicinity.

Prior to the construction of this bridge there were smaller bridges at the same location. Beginning with a footbridge soon after colonisation.

The bridge links two busy areas of the city. To the north, government and cultural activities, to the south, businesses. There is a name and date on the bridge (in gallery). Waymark made on the northern side of the bridge.
