Josefsteg wurde eröffnet im dezember 2001 - eine Voraussetzung dafür, dass auch nach Anhebung des Wasserspiegels der Fasangartenarm (sogenante Tischwasser) überquert werden kann. Der Holzsteg hat eine Länge von 145 Metern und wurde vom österr. Bundesheer (Pionierbataillon 3 in Melk) innerhalb von 5 Wochen errichtet.
Der Steg bietet einen herrlichen Ausblick über das Wasser sowie die
Schilfzone und soll Besucher dazu animieren, speziell angebotene Wege in der Lobau zu nützen. Damit wird zu einer Beruhigung des Gebietes beigetragen, Tier- und Pflanzenwelt geschützt.

The "Josefsteg" was built in december 2001. It was necessarry for crossing the "Fasangartenarm" (named Tischwasser) after rising its water level. It is 145m in length an was built by the Austrian army ("Pionierbataillon 3").
The Bridge offers a wonderful view over the water and the Reed zone is to encourage visitors and to offer specific ways to benefit them in the Lobau. This will be a settling of the area helped and protected animal and plant life.
