Mansonville
Le Canton de Potton, situé dans les Cantons de l’Est, regroupe les hameaux de Highwater, Dunkin, Knowlton Landing, Vale Perkins et Mansonville, son chef-lieu.
Bordée par le lac Memphrémagog, Mansonville se trouve au beau milieu des monts Owl’s Head, Sugar Loaf, du Pevee et Hawks.
Avant la colonisation, les Abénakis pratiquaient la chasse et la pêche dans ces lieux.
Mansonville fut fondé en 1811. Son nom rappelle le fondateur du village Robert Manson. La venue dans la région du colonel Henry Ruilter de l’armée britannique suscite la colonisation du lieu.

Mansonville
The Potton Township, located in the Eastern Townships, encompasses the villages of Highwater, Dunkin, Knowlton Landing, Vale Perkins and Mansonville, its capital.
Bordered by Lake Memphremagog, Mansonville is in the middle of Owl's Head Mountain, Sugar Loaf, and the PEVE Hawks.
Before colonization, the Abenaki hunted and fished in these places.
Mansonville was founded in 1811. Its name recalls the founding of the village Robert Manson. The arrival in the region of Colonel Henry Ruilter of the British Army raised the settlement of the place.
