This welcome sign features the tower for the Kenrick-Glennon Seminary which is located in Shrewsbury. Shrewsbury was incorporated in 1913 though officially platted in 1889. The land that is now Shrewsbury was a 278-acre farm owned by General John Murdoch which was called Shrewsbury Park after a town in England.
This welcome sign is located at the Chippewa Street/Watson Road entrance to Shrewsbury.
