Hortas de Cascais
The Community Gardens are places for the practice of horticulture, leisure available to the residents of Cascais.
They are multipurpose spaces where each family enrolled their products can grow and there are living areas and rest.
These gardens are the places recommended for those interested in farming but do not own their own land. As part of the ecological structure of the Municipality, the Community Gardens are located in municipal parks and other land, aiming to bring a new use to the public space where different generations can live together and share experiences.
The use of the blocks is reserved for residents living in Cascais, near the gardens. In addition to accepting the rules of the Community Gardens, users must attend training in organic horticulture (a theoretical session and three practice sessions in the gardens) provided by the Municipality of Cascais in partnership with Criativa.
