Fort and Lighthouse of Bugio
The Fort of São Lourenço do Bugio, also known as Forte de São Lourenço da Cabeça Seca or simply Bugio Tower, located in the midst of the waters of the Tagus river estuary.
The lighthouse is also located Bugio Fort. It is a circular tower of stone, white, topped by a red lantern and balcony, inside a fort also circular.
The place where it stands was a bank of sand formed by the silting of the river mouth, the fruit of the dynamics of the confluence of its waters with the Atlantic Ocean, to the rhythm of the tides.
