Tatobity village has its origin in middle ages: the oldest written notice is from 1514. In 2008 it had 555 inhabitants. Žlábek is a small village east of Tatobity and today they make one community.

The roadside welcome and goodbye signs are in wooden frames, at the base there is a flower box and at the sign there is the village crest with some floral ornaments.

About 250m to the west there is a cache GC1FQ4P with a great view of Ceský Ráj - "Bohemian Paradise".
