The lighthouse stands at the northern end of the Oslofjord and it is good visible from the harbour of Oslo. If one leaves the harbour of Oslo by a ferry of the Color-Line into direction Kiel, the lighthouses Kavringsanden, Kavringen Northeast, Tingvallagrunnen, Skurvegrunnen and Lille Herberen are visible.
