[NL] Station Moerbeke-Waas is een oud voormalig spoorwegstation, gebouwd in 1910 in vervanging van het oude verdwenen gebouw van 1867 gelegen langs de voormalige spoorlijnen.
Lijn 77 via Wachtebeke naar Zelzate alsook via Klein-Sinaai naar Sint-Gilles-waas.
Lijn 77a via Daknam naar Lokeren.
In 1960 werd het station gesloten voor het reizigervervoer, sindsdien stond dit geklasseerd gebouw te verkommeren.
Tot 21 december 2007 was er nog jaarlijks goederenvervoer over lijn 77 met suikerbieten die vanuit West-Vlaanderen werden aangevoerd naar de suikerfabriek. Met het sluiten van de fabriek werd ook lijn 77 begin mei 2008 definitief buiten gebruikt gesteld.
Voor het stationsgebouw is er een herbestemming. Het gebouw word voor de ogenblik 13/07/2011 omgevormd tot ontmoetingscentrum en achteraan komt de nieuwe bibliotheek.
Opening voorzien in october 2011.
[EN] Station Moerbeke-Waas is an old railway station build in 1910 as a replacement for the 1867 older building that had been removed. A station served this location since 1867.
Track 77 Zelzate via Wachtebeke and Sint-Gilles-Waas via klein-Sinaai
Track 77a Lokeren via Daknan.
In 1960 the station was closed to passenger transport and since then this building has gone to seed.
There was still a yearly transport over track 77 of sugar beets to the local factory, but this stopped at the end of 2007 with the closing of the sugar factory.
In 2011 there is finally a solution for the building, it will be transformed into a meeting centre that is scheduled to open in October of 2011.
