I came across this wonderful bookstore while on our annual sister trip to the North Shore of Lake Superior in northeastern Minnesota. The book store is located in the wonderful city of Grand Marais located just 40 miles from the Canadian border and on the shores of Lake Superior.

Grand Marais is known as an artist's colony and its scenic beauty. It should also be known as home to one of the greatest book stores anywhere.

Drury Lane Books is located on the Lake Superior waterfront in a historic building on Wisconsin Street. The building was built by Joseph Mayhew, who was the Grand Marais lighthouse keeper. George Mayhew, the first child of European ancestry to be born in Cook County, was born in this building.

The bookstore has ambiance, great books, a dedicated owner and author of several great books as well. There are several books clubs, wish I lived closer so I could join one or two, events, readings, order service, good service and great people. There is an online event calendar, newsletter and more.
