CSIRAC (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation Automatic Computer) is Australia's first computer, first run in 1949 after taking 2 years to build, it was retired in 1964.
CSIRAC is now on display in the lower level of the Melbourne Museum opposite the research centre. Admission to the museum is not neccesary to view the computer.
The performace of this machine, no doubt an incredable undertaking for the time makes your toaster look like a spacecraft.
