This statue of an Ardina (newspaper seller) is located in the main square of the city of Porto.
The newsboy is a street seller of newspapers proclaiming the news that draws the attention of potential customers. Figure portrayed by artists and very popular for its public exhibition, its origin is lost in time and brings us to the "news" that ran from mouth to mouth.
Deprecated by the appearance of kiosks, newsstads and other means of distribution, Ardinas are rarely found in the streets.
