The Merle Hay Funeral Home, Mausoleum and Crematory is part of the Overton Family Funeral Homes found in the Des Moines area as well as four locations in northeast Iowa. It is named after Merle Hay, the first Iowa serviceman to be killed in battle during World War I. There are two memorial markers which can be found just outside the entrance. The Chapel Hill Cemetery adjoins the property.
