Scuba diving and snorkeling are popular activities in the Okoboji Lakes area. This flag is one of many found along the shoreline alerting boaters to avoid areas where divers are present. Spring is a better time for this underwater activity as clarity is often greater than 40 feet; later in the summer it decreases considerably. There are three pipelines (Pillsbury Point, Milford Tower and the Inn) to check out as well as a 1940’s truck that broke through the ice in Smith Bay. Numerous boat wreckages litter the bottom as well, and a wide variety of fish and turtles are always a joy to see.
