Sutter Begg is a Basel based regional chain of coffee shops with currently 18 locations in Basel and 8 in different town of the canton Basel-Land.
They originally started as a bakery. Bread and other bakery products are still an important factor in their business, but the coffee shops grow faster and are more recognized by the public. In 2004 they started to add a coffee shop to each of their locations that had enough room. Their business plan won the "Swiss Gastro-Award" in 2004 and also proofed to be successful in real life.
This branch is located near the university just next to a tramway station. It has only a small seating area. They offer coffee, all sorts of bakery products and also some snacks, sandwiches, pizza.
