The Iowa Rock ‘n’ Roll Music Association Museum is ideally located near the Arnold’s Park amusement park since many popular bands gathered at the Arnold’s Park Roof Garden Ballroom at the start of the rock ‘n’ roll era.
Since it’s opening in 2003 this great museum houses a wide array of music memorabilia including musical instruments, a replica Iowa Great Lakes recording studio and 60’s era radio booth, pictures, posters, jukeboxes, and the Hall of Fame. Of special interest is the case holding two guitars that were “instrumental” in the roots of rock ‘n’ roll: a Fender Stratocaster and a Gibson Les Paul. What a wonderful way to preserve this genre of music for future generations.

Hours: Summer, daily 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Off season, Tuesday-Saturday 1 – 4 p.m.
