This Kassák statue is located in the downtown of Nové Zámky.
You can find the statue between the Kukucinova and the Björnsonova streets in the middle on the Banskobystricka street.
The sculpture is a "scene", the writer is just arriving home.
It has been erected in 2007, the sculptor was Péter Pogány.
Kassák Lajos was born is Nové Zámky in 1887. He was was a Hungarian poet, novelist, painter, essayist, editor, theoretician of the avant-garde and occasional translator, was the father of many modernisms. He was also the first genuine working-class writer in Hungarian literature. Self-taught, it was within the socialist movement that he became a writer and artist.
Although he cannot be fully identified with any of the avantgarde movements, his main influences were expressionism, futurism and later dadaism.
