This palindrome is located just outside the small Thai city of Pattani, capital of the province of the same name, ~1000kms from Bangkok.

The location is easy to reach from the city. It lies ~5kms due west from the city centre. From the city it can be approached from either the coastal road or from the main road leading into the city (I could not find the name of this coastal road). Once you are in this spot look for a small track leading eastwards from the road. The track is approximately half way between the small river bridge and the coastal road. This track (at the time of my visit) was visible from the road (and on Google satellite view). Once you are at the track, walk approximately 15m along the track and then approximately 3m north. You will be there. (At the time of this waymark the google map view differed from the satellite view, in that the map road was ~10m to the west of the satellite map.)

As this location is a natural setting it is possible that in the future the surrouding foliage might grow and overwhelm the track, or this spot may be built over or cultivated. Be advised that there are snakes and other annoying creatures in tropical jungles (including disease carrying mosquitos). Not trying to put anyone off, you could walk for days without incident, but be advised. I always carry a small club. Also, as you can see below this region of Thailand has security problems. I had to pass through several police and military checkpoints leaving and then re-entering the city, however, as a foreigner, I was just waved through. All great fun.

ADVISORY: For the last few years and decades there has been an ongoing insurgency in the Muslim populated provinces of Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat (the 'deep south' of Thailand). An average of 600 people (out of a pop. of 1.6 million) have been killed per year between 2004-9. The Australian government strongly urges its citizens not to visit these provinces: "do not travel". Having said all of this there is no blood on the streets, and life goes on normally for the vast majority of people. You have been advised.
