The Yangyang County Tourist Information Center and Insectarium, on busy Route 7, is hard to miss with its giant beetles climbing up the side, and large dragonflies on the front of the futuristic style building. It is further identified by the large red "i" indicating the building's dual role as a regional tourist information center.
Yangyang is one of the gateways, not only to the scenic east coast of Korea, but for the popular Sorak Mountain National Park. This is a convenient place to get travel brochures and maps while visiting one of the regional attractions.
There a numerous interactive and educational displays geared for children, making this a really fun place for family visits. Then there are extensive collections of mounted insects from all over the world including rare silk worm moths, giant beetles, walking sticks, butterflies and moths.
Of course there is a geocache outside!
