This Bed & Breakfast / Farmstay I would personally and strongly recommend if you were looking for a fine place to stay with the added bonus of being able to experience and having the flavour and surrounding of the New Zealand Farming scene. The proprietors of this Farmstay are Murray & Joyce Turner - and one could not meet two more enjoyable and fun people with friendliness and hospitality that I would advocate as being unsurpassed. The Farm is a mainly Sheep Farm with a few cattle as well and is of a moderate size of 301 Hectares or 744 acres. Murray, as well as his farming, is a 'fanatical' Fly Fisherman and has licence, ability and skills to be a Fishing Guide for those who would so wish. The Aparima River is a mere 250 metres or so from their front door which also holds populations of Brown Trout. Joyce is an excellant host and cook and is self taught on the piano and is really quite good but would deny being so but I'm sure would entertain you given a bit of unrelenting prompting. The accommodation here is brilliant with room for 3 couples in a large and immaculately kept home with Joyces gardens surrounding. I would personally recommend and advocate Murray & Joyces as a great place to stay. Enquires about times and rates etc can be obtained by email as listed below or by Fax +64-3-2257602.

Area Attractions:
As explained above there is Fishing available with Murray, including the possiblity of boating at Lake TeAnau but this would incur the associated costs and river fishing does have it's seasonal variables. This would best be discussed with Murray in advance and would also be dependant on what activites are happening around the farm at the time as well. The farm activies you would do well to discuss either by phone or by email in advance also as usually there is something going on or needing to be done and discussing your interest or level of involvement would be to everyones benefit and enjoyment as well.
