One of the figures on this boat is relaxing and watching his mate trying to catch some sunlight to complete the charge in the 'net'.
Sunfishers was sculpted by Dutchman Jits Bakker and unveiled in 2001. It has suffered damage in the intervening years, the figure standing should be carrying a complete loop and some of the coloured inserts in his net are missing.
Jits was born in 1937 in Renkum, Netherlands, and has his studio and sculpture garden in De Bilt, Netherlands. He has been working as an all-round artist for over 50 years, originally in glass, then mosaics of glass and finally bronze and marble.
