This small sign marks the entry to the town of Capitola. This particular sign is located near the intersection of Opal Cliff Drive and Portola Drive. The sign depicts a cliff view overlooking the Pacific Ocean with a shining sun. The rough wood grain of the sign has been finished in a way that represents the waves of the ocean.
Capitola is best known for its wharf and wide beach with view of Monterey Bay. Capitola Village is a trendy shopping area with restaurants along the beach. The Capitola Art & Wine Festival is held in the village annually in the fall.
