This place is awesome. Owned by the Flanders, who have turned their yard and property into a small city with over 2 miles of 7 1/2, 12, and 24 guage track.
S&S Shortline Railroad in Farmington offers a museum and park where people can see and ride on trains of various sizes. The museum features over 90 engines and cars. A 1920's replica of a freight station houses the museum and some visitor facilities. The park also offers miniature golf and a picnic pavilion.
The park boasts over 11,000 feet of 7 1/2" gauge rail and 5,000 feet of 24" gauge rail, with engines and cars in both sizes. The 24” gauge train exhibit features a diesel-powered engine, an electric trolley, more than 10 passenger cars, a caboose, a 1914 Model T Rail Bus and a Crown Steam Locomotive.
The Clubhouse can handle 40 to 50 people while larger groups can use the Engine House which can seat 150 people. You can bring your own food to the park.
Scheduled open hours are 10 am – 6 pm on the first Saturday of the month, April through September. In 2010, the scheduled open day in July is the second Saturday, because of the July 4th holiday
