During her lifetime she would have seen an amazing period of economic growth and performance (at least in the West). However she was born in a year of financial crisis in the U.S. and died in a period of world recession.
The panic of 1907 in the U.S. with runs on banks and trust funds led to the creation of the Federal Reserve System.
A similar mechanism was needed in 2010, but this time a whole country had to be bailed out. The Eurozone and the International Monetary Fund jointly funded a 110 billion Euro bailout package for Greece.
Closer to home 1907 saw the introduction of taxi meters in London, and 2010 the introduction of full body scanners at UK airports.
The surname Stoyle is common in Yorkshire and it is believed it came over to England from Normandy during the Norman Conquest of 1066.
On 25th April 2007 she made it into the Telegraph and Argus newspaper when she had a party to celebrate her 100th birthday. According to the article she became an orphan when she was 8 and then at age 10 she fell into a quarry and was unconscious for 10 days. (

The headstone is alongside the path that is between the First World War Meorial Cross, and an old derelict chapel.
