This is the first lock of the Canal de Huningue. It is located in Huningue just a few steps from the Rhine. It was built in 1828 and was active until 1962, when extensions of the Grand Canal d'Alsace and the Rhine made this canal an obsolete duplicate. The locks are out of service but have been preserved.
