This is one of three concrete blocks to be found in the area around Llyn Ogwen which were used during WWII as mountings for Lewis Guns.

This one is located next to a modern cycle track and is the easiest to locate.

The mountings would have given those using the Lewis Guns a commanding view down the Nant Ffrancon valley.
