Dreiländerbrücke (Three countries bridge) crosses the Rhine between Germany and France but is less than 200 meters from the Swiss border. It was built in 2007 at the location of a former bridge than was destroyed in WWII.
It has a total length of 248 meters and a weight of 1001 tons. The arch span of 229.4 meters makes it the world's longest pedestrians arch bridge.
The bridge has won several international architecture awards, "Deutscher Brückenbaupreis", the "Outstanding Structure Award" of the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering and several others.
