Jose “Pitok” V. Blanco was born March 19, 1932 and became one of the most noted artists in the Philippines known for his large, detailed murals of folk life and local scenes. His wife, Loring, and their seven children in turn became immersed in creating large canvases in the same style, sometimes called "folk realism"

Jose passed away in 2008, never having strayed far from his roots in Angono, and Philippine Daily Inquirer ran a story about his life and legacy.

The Blanco Family Museum may be difficult to find on a plain side street with only a small sign. Local tricycle drivers usually know the way. But, behind the walls is a Filipino welcome and someone to show the way around the museum with its peaceful garden and rooms holding the huge paintings.
