Nesfield is a small village about 3 miles west of the town of Ilkley. This gate makes an attractive entrance to the gardens of the house.

They are next to a historical shelter with a bench inside. The shelter was built in 1926 for the use of the postman who made deliveries on foot twice a day. It was renovated in 2008 for the use of any passers by.
