Jan Hus (c. 1369-1415) was a Czech 15th century church reformer.
As a master of Prague university he was also active in Czech language reforms and change of voting rights at Prague University in favor of the Bohemian nation (see Decree of Kutná Hora). This nationalistic aspect of Hus' heritage is accented at this 1911 monument, as Bohušovice used to be the last town of Czech-speaking population and the "language frontier" of Czech and German was passing here.
