The club was built with funds provided in 1919 by Lord Masham. The money was to build a memorial park and war memorial after World War II ended.

The bowling pavilion has the war memorial at the rear.
It is a crown bowling club, and it has teams in the Skipton League and The Wharfedale and Airedale Half-Holiday League.
The lawn has floodlights.
There are a number of benches around the lawn and outside the pavillion all with bowling related phrases on them.
