The Wickliffe Presbyterian Church was built from bluestone in 1861.
Wyselaskie Street on which the church is located on, is named after Philanthropist John Dickson Wyselaskie, who set up a school nearby and donated the tower and spire which was added to the original church in 1878.
Childless, on his death in 1883, he bequeathed most of his fortune of almost £100,000 to the Presbyterian Church, including the sum of £2000 to the Wickliffe Presbyterian Church.
The Uniting Church in Australia was formed on June 22, 1977, as a union of three churches: the Congregational Union of Australia, the Methodist Church of Australasia and the Presbyterian Church of Australia.
