The canoe benches at this tourist information center and rest stop complement the rest of the Lewis and Clark artistic display at this facility. They are formed from sculptural steel to represent the dug out canoes used on the historic expedition.

Other features in the “Corps of Discovery” display include tile murals depicting the expedition and a compass medallion inside the building; terra cotta relief sculptures adorn on the exterior of the building. The rest stop is on the southbound side of Interstate 29 just south of exit 141 at Sergeant Bluff, IA.
