Aberystwyth Station is at the end of the west coast line that connects to north west Wales or Shrewsbury if you turn at Dovey Junction. It runs trains daily, and is the only way to travel from west Wales other than car or bus.
There is only one platform now, platform 1 itself, but the site has been reduced in size and other businesses incorporated nearby.
Platform 2 is now a recycling centre for second hand goods, the main entrance area has been converted to a pub under JT Weatherspoons ownership.
Platform 3&4 is now the Shilam Indian Restaurant.
Beside this main line is the Rheidol Valley Train, a steam train line that runs over a short distance to the nearby Devils Bridge and should be considered a Scenic Railway line.
