Baroque Vysehrad citadel is built on the site Premysl's legend and massive fortified castle of Charles IV. The site is the subject of many old Czech legends. Vysehrad acting main part in legends about of Princess Libuse, Bivoj, Horymír etc.

The first mention of the castle dates back to the 7th century. The oldest archeological relics originate from the 10th century. The castle was rebuilt to a citadel after the Thirty Years War. The citadel was abolished in 1911. In the past century Vyšeharad was declared a national cultural monument.

Barokni citadela Vysehrad je nastupce bajneho premyslovskeho hradiste a mohutneho hradu Karla IV. Misto je predmetem mnoha staroceskych povesti. Vysehrad vystupuje v povestech o knezne Libusi, o Bivojovi, Horymirovi atd.

Zminky o hradu pochazeji jiz ze 7. stoleti. Nejstarsi archeologicke pamatky pochazeji ze 10. stoleti. Hrad byl prestaven na pevnost po tricetilete valce. Pevnost byl zrusena v roce 1911. V minulem stoleti byl Vysehrad prohlasen za narodni kulturni pamatku.
