In summer this is just the road to the Albula pass. In winter the road is closed and prepared as a sledding run.

The only way up is by train, and even this is an adventure. The part between Bergün and Preda is one of the most complicated railway lines and part of an UNESCO world heritage site since 2008. There are five bridges and nine tunnels (three of them curved over 180 degrees) on a length of 12 kilometers and an elevation difference of more than 400 meters. In peak season there are special sledding trains every 30 minutes.

Sleds (toboggans, plastic sleds are not suited for this run) can be rented in Bergün or Preda.

The sledding run has a length of about 6 kilometers (3.75 miles) and goes more or less along the railway line (just without the spiral tunnels). An average run takes 20 to 30 minutes. The run is extremely well prepared and also suitable for children over four years; helmets are mandatory for children. From dawn until 23:30 the run is floodlit.

A single run including the train ticket is CHF 13 for adults, a full day ticket CHF 36.

The coordinates are at the official starting point of the run, but under good conditions you can start sledding about half a mile before.
