REKA is a Swiss non-profit organization focused on social tourism; it was founded in 1939.
Their main goal is to make affordable holidays possible for people with lower incomes. They are most popular for issuing the REKA cheques, that are accepted in all touristic companies in Switzerland like restaurants, hotels, public transport and gas stations. Many employers sell these to their staff with a reduction. Furthermore REKA is the biggest owner of holiday apartments in Switzerland with over 1.5 mio. guest-nights/year.
There are about 15 REKA Feriendörfer (holiday villages) in Switzerland. These are bigger complexes with a lot of infrastructure like indoor swimming pools and playrooms, affordable but high quality and very suitable for families with little children.
The REKA holiday area in Bergün opened in 1974 and received this fountain with a plaque for the 30th anniversary from the local tourism association. It is located at a public pathway that leads through the REKA area.
