Minnesmerke over Andreas Hesjedal (1917–1945) frå Kinn
som falt i tjeneste for fedrelandet i 1945.
Han var bygningssnekker og soldat. Deltok i kampene i Valdres
etter krigsutbruddet 1940. Vart innkalt til tjeneste sommeren 1945 og omkom då
ammunisjonslekteren ”Thekla” (sjå
Thekla-ulukka) eksploderte ved Florø hamn den 1. september 1945.

Church of Eikefjord - commemorating
Memorial to Andrew Hesjedal (1917-1945) from Kinn who fell in the service of his country in 1945.
He was a soldier and karpenter. Participated in the fighting in Valdres after the outbreak of war 1940. Was drafted into service in summer 1945 and were killed when ammunition barge "Thekla" exploded at the Florida port 1 September 1945.
