The dam was built in 1948-1955. Its volume is 35.5 million m3.It supplies drinking water Ostrava agglomeration. It cooperates with the uppermost Slezska Harta dam and reduce the risk of flooding together. Below the dam is a beautiful valley, which use canoeists, hikers and cyclists.
Prehrada byla postavena v letech 1948-1955. Objem nadrze cini 35,5 mil. m3. Zasobuje pitnou vodou ostravskou aglomeraci. Spolupracuje s vyse polozenou Slezskou Hartou a zajistuji spolu protipovodnovou ochranu nize polozenych obci. Pod prehradou se tahne dlouhe udoli, ktere vyuzivaji vodaci, turiste i cyklisti.
