The Kaunerberg hillside channel has been assuring the irrigation of fields and fruit tree gardens at Kaunerberg for over 50 years. One part of the channel is an irrigation tunnel with a length of 995m. It was build in 1950. There is a hiking trail which also leads through the tunnel. It is also used to handcarry food and drinks to the mountain shed at the other side of the tunnel.

Hiking to the tunnel will give you a great scenery of the Kaunertall. Halfway the tunnel there is a small side tunnel providing a great view to the Kaunertall

Note: There is no light in the tunnel, bring your own light when plan to enter it. When the tunnel is closed, do not enter it!
